Police looking for Sharon man, charged with high-speed chase

MERCER, Pa. (WYTV) – Pennsylvania State Police are looking for a Sharon man who they said led officers on a high-speed pursuit in Mercer County.

Robert Elder, 30, is wanted for reckless endangerment and fleeing.

Police said they attempted to stop Elder around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, but he drove away at speeds of more than 100 mph on Interstate 80 eastbound, state Route 173 northbound and East Gilmore Road. At one point in the vehicle chase, Elder got out of the car and the passenger, Lindsey Wolbert, continued driving, according to police.

Wolbert was found later parked in a field off of Harrisville Road in Worth Township. Police said Wolbert was found with drug paraphernalia and arrested.

Police are still looking for Elder and are asking anyone with information on his whereabouts to call the Mercer branch of the Pennsylvania State Police at 724-662-6162. A photo of Elder was not available on Wednesday.
