Youngstown PD: Officers found 5 guns, men trying to run away

Officers were called out to Hanley Avenue around 10 p.m. Tuesday

Youngstown Police seized five dangerous guns.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – Youngstown Police are investigating reports of gunfire Tuesday night after they said they found five guns and shell casings.

Officers were called out to Hanley Avenue around 10 p.m.

They saw five men jump out of three cars and start running through the backyards, according to a police report.

When police caught up to the men, they found five guns in a car and on the ground. A shotgun and several rifles were among the weapons. Officers also said they found shell casings on the ground in the area.

The men told police that someone shot at them, and they started running when they saw the police.

No arrests have been made.
