2016 Columbiana Football Preview

Columbiana is coming off an ITCL White-Tier crown

Columbiana Clippers High School Football - Columbiana, Ohio

COLUMBIANA, Ohio (WYTV) – Columbiana is coming off an ITCL White-Tier crown and in the final year of the conference, the Clippers are going for back-to-back football league titles for the first time in school history.

Head Coach Bob Spaite welcomes 58 players to camp this year, way up from last season.

The Clippers feature seven starters back on each side of the ball including senior quarterback, Mitch Davidson.

Davis already holds the school record for passing yards, touchdowns, and completions.

In front of him is a wall of experience, with all five offensive lineman returning.

The biggest worry is the loss of a lot of production from a year ago, but the team thinks their speed will overcome their inexperience.

Tough start to the season with back-to-back road games against Western Reserve and rival, Crestview. Both those teams made the postseason last year. Three of their last four are home before closing out the year at Leetonia.
