HOWLAND, Ohio (WYTV) – Investigators with the Howland Township Fire Department are investigating a fire that nearly destroyed a family’s home Monday morning.
An adult male living in the house on Hightree Circle S.E. woke up about 2 a.m. and saw flames coming from the back of the house and alerted other family members.
Three adults and one child were inside the house at the time of the fire. All were able to get out safely.
Smoke detectors were installed in the home and working properly, according to Howland Fire Chief James Pantalone.
When firefighters arrived, the house had already sustained heavy damage.
Crews from Bazetta, Vienna and Weathersfield townships were called in.
No injuries were reported. A cause has not been determined.
