2016 Beaver Local Football Preview

The Beavers haven't made the post season since 2005

EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio (WYTV) – After making four straight trips to the post-season from 2002 to 2005, Beaver Local has been without a Trip to Week 11.

The Beavers have posted back-to-back winning seasons, the first time they have done that since the playoff teams of the mid-2000’s.

Jeremy McElroy is in his fourth season at the helm of the Beavers.

McElroy has lost a lot from last season’s team, including their 1,100-yard rusher Robert Johnson. Look for Michael Clendenning to step into that role this season after running for 272 yards and three touchdowns. Clendenning is also the team’s leader in tackles and sacks of the players returning.

McElroy says the strength of the team is along the Offensive and Defensive lines, something that fits their style of play.

Two of their first three games are at home before back-to-back road games against Edison and East Liverpool. Following those games, they have three straight at home, then back-to-back road games to wrap up the season at Oak Glen and Martins Ferry.
