YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – The 53-year-old man found dead at a Palmer Avenue home Friday night has been identified as Howard Ramey.
The Mahoning County Coroner’s Office is investigating and hasn’t yet released a cause of death but said Ramey was stabbing several times in the head and neck. An autopsy will be completed Tuesday morning.
Ramey was found dead in a fruit cellar in the basement of the home. Police said there was blood coming from under the door.
The rear entrance and patio doors were unlocked.
Police were called to the home because a woman reported that she hadn’t seen or heard from her father since Tuesday, which was unusual.
Neighbors said they had not heard or seen anything suspicious.
