2016 Valley Christian Football Preview

Valley Christian Eagles High School Football

Youngstown, OH (WYTV) – The Eagles won just one game in 2015, but don’t count them out this season. The pieces are in place for a big turnaround in 2016, starting with a new head coach and plenty of young talent.

Head coach Butch Jennings takes over the program. He’s won back-to-back State Titles in Virginia and brings a wealth of knowledge as a player and coach. His younger brother Rashad Jennings is actually the starting running back for the New York Giants. He inherits a relatively inexperienced group with a lot of potential.

His son, Domonhic Jennings will be the quarterback. He’s a junior with a lot of play-making ability. Milan Square is also back and will move to wide receiver. The defense needs to improve after giving up over 41 points a game last season.

The Eagles will compete in the North Coast League White Tier once again this season. They finished just 1-4 in the division last year. There’s no home field for Valley Christian so they’ll play most of their home games at Poland High School or other local cites. Their only win last season came against Trinity in Week 10.
