BOARDMAN, Ohio (WYTV) – Police are investigating a complaint from a family who believes their three dogs were poisoned.

The two called police to their Hunters Cove home in Boardman on Sunday, saying they found rat poison in their backyard. According to a police report, the rat poison was coated with peanut butter and the dogs had eaten them. The pets were taken to an emergency veterinary clinic for treatment and had reportedly been sick for two weeks prior.

The family gave police suspects who they believe were involved due to ongoing issues between them. No one has been charged yet, according to the report.
