BOARDMAN, Ohio (WYTV) – Police arrested an Aliquippa, Pennsylvania man on Monday who they say is responsible for a theft and burglary in Boardman from one year ago.

Norman Harvey, 55, is charged with theft and aggravated burglary in relation to stolen items from Lowe’s and Cirelli Jewelers.

A Lowe’s representative told police last summer that a man, later identified as Harvey, stole a faucet worth over $200 from the Doral Drive store on August 1, 2015.

Then on August 18, 2015, over $88,000 in jewelry was reported missing from Cirelli Jewelers on Market Street.

The owner, who lives above the business, said he heard the alarm go off around 11 p.m. When he went downstairs, he said he found the burglar, later identified as Harvey, rummaging through the jewelry.

The owner said Harvey began coming toward him and he feared for his life, so he shot Harvey. At that point, Harvey ran away down Market Street, according to a police report.

Officers searched the area following the incident, but were unable to find him. They discovered a large amount of jewelry that had been dropped in the parking lot.

Harvey was arrested around 4:45 p.m. Monday at the Centre County Jail in Belfonte, Pennsylvania and taken to Mahoning County Jail.
