SALEM, Ohio (WYTV) – A Salem woman is charged with felonious assault after the Columbiana County Heath Commissioner reported that she admitted to being HIV-positive and having unprotected sex with multiple men.
Lisa Mutter, 41, appeared in Columbiana County Municipal Court Monday on the charges.
Columbiana County Health Commissioner Wes Vins told the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office that Mutter admitted to Health Board nurses that she was diagnosed with HIV in 2004, but she said she was not taking her prescribed medication. She added that she had been having sex with men she meets on dating websites, according to a County Sheriff’s report.
Mutter appeared in court without an attorney, entering no plea to the charges. A preliminary hearing was set for 1 p.m. August 18.
