WARREN, Ohio (WYTV) – A few retired teachers kept busy Tuesday by helping to rehabilitate a home on Plaza Avenue in Warren.

The women, who are part of the Trumbull Retired Teachers Association, joined Habitat for Humanity to get the home move-in ready for the family. They primed interior walls as part of the project.

“It’s always a wonderful feeling to be able to do whatever you can do to help the community and families and children, especially because as teachers, of course, that’s where we’re the most interested in,” said retired teacher Marilyn Stanton.

Stanton said since a lot of their members are older and physically were not able to help, they also collected more than $500 for Habitat for Humanity.
