WARREN, Ohio (WYTV) – A Warren man with a stab wound changed his story when officers questioned him about his injury, according to a police report.
Warren police received a call from Trumbull Memorial Hospital early Friday morning about a patient who had been stabbed in the back.
Officers went to the hospital and spoke with the victim, who said he was stabbed during a party. He told police that two people were fighting and he tried to stop them, when a 15-year-old acquaintance stabbed him.
He later told police that he had lied, and said his wife actually stabbed him during an argument. She also hit him in the face with a tool and scratched his neck, according to the police report.
The victim said he told her to leave afterwards, so she wouldn’t get in trouble. He said he didn’t want any more police involvement.
