Shaker Woods Festival brings shoppers, vendors to the Valley

The huge event not only attracts people to Columbiana County, but also keeps money in the Valley

Customers pack the first weekend of the annual Shaker Woods Festival just outside of Columbiana on Aug. 9, 2015

COLUMBIANA, Ohio (WYTV) – One of Columbiana County’s summer traditions, the Shaker Woods Festival, is taking place on Sunday.

The festival attracts shoppers and vendors from all over the country and packs the woods.

This year, there are 213 crafters.

Each craft person is dressed in period clothing while demonstrating and selling handmade items.

The huge event not only attracts people to Columbiana County, but also keeps money in the Valley.

“I know the Dutch Village Inn, they get completely booked, and even the surrounding ones up into Boardman. So it’s not only Columbiana County that benefits when this goes on,” said Lana Grim of the Shaker Woods Festival.

The festival is just off Route 7 near County Line Road and will take place from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday.
