CORTLAND, Ohio (WYTV) – The Trumbull County Fairgrounds should have a bigger and better restroom facility next year, replacing one that’s currently been in operation for 37 years.
Members of the fair board joined county commissioners Wednesday morning, announcing that they received a $50,000 grant to put toward the over $200,000 construction project.
The new facilities will have a family room, changing station, better showers and new toilets.
Fair board members say it’s time for an upgrade.
“They’re falling apart inside. They were built in 1979 for $26,000 and they are falling apart. The building is trying to collapse, so we thought this was the best thing we’d go for,” said.
Members hope to begin demolition this October and have the project completed by the 2017 Trumbull County Fair.
