LEETONIA, Ohio (WYTV) – The annual Leetonia Artisans Festival returned this year with a new name and a new date.
The new name is Festival in the Park and it took place Sunday in Wick Park.
This year was also a special year because the village is celebrating its 150th birthday.
“This is wonderful, this is the 31st successful year for the Artisans Festival, and a combination with 150th anniversary for the village of Leetonia. So we’re all excited and we welcomed everybody here today,” said Gary Phillips, the village administrator of Leetonia.
The festival had a full slate of entertainment this year. There was a DJ, several singers, the Leetonia High School marching band and a car show sponsored by the Washingtonville VFW. There were also craft and food vendors.
Also, a local historian created a photo gallery of pictures from Leetonia’s past.
All the money raised from the festival will go to the parks and rec board.
The event chairs said it wasn’t easy putting it all together, but the tradition of the festival is something the village’s community looks forward to every year.
“It does take a lot of work but it’s worth it, it’s absolutely worth it, so just like I said, it lets everybody have a good time and get together,” said Suzanne Cobuck, chair of the festival.
