CANFIELD, Ohio (WYTV) – More than 15 Boy Scouts from several different troops met at the Canfield Fair to relive history Saturday by reenacting original Boy Scout games.
All of the games were formed in 1907 on Brownsea Island in the United Kingdom. Although they look fun, each game demonstrates a different lesson for the boys to learn.
“The tripod that we have down there is like a lad out in the water saying, ‘Help, rescue me!’ And the lads are learning to squil, which is a rescue type of line to rescue him. So that would be one of the games that we have here,” said Bill Moss of Canfield.
More than 30 scouts also camped at the fair this weekend.
