JFK defense pitches a shutout in LaBrae

The Vikings were held to just 51 total yards by the Eagle defense in the 'Game of the Week'

LEAVITTSBURG, Ohio (WYTV) – The Warren JFK defense was on display in a 55-0 week one win over Keystone, but could they continue their strong play against LaBrae in the ‘Game of the Week’. The short answer, a resounding ‘yes’.

The Warren JFK Eagles continued their incredible start to the season by holding the LaBrae Vikings to just 51 total yards of offense in a 17-0 win Friday in Leavittsburg.

Following a scoreless first quarter, Evan Boyd put Warren JFK in the lead with 9:04 left in the second with a two yard touchdown run capping an 8 play, 33 yard drive.

Justin Bofenkamp connected with a 38 yard field goal with just under six minutes remaining, and the Eagles would take a 10-0 lead into halftime.

Jacob Coates ran untouched for a one yard touchdown with :22 left in the third quarter to cap off an eight play, 56 yard drive that took four minutes off of the clock and extended the Eagles lead to 17-0.

Warren JFK (2-0) will travel to Girard in week three. LaBrae (1-1) will visit Lakeview.
