Operation Paint Brush is a community outreach program to help income eligible homeowners in Youngstown.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – Operation Paint Brush was in the city of Youngstown Saturday.

It’s a community outreach program to help income eligible homeowners in Youngstown.

Three homes received a makeover as volunteers planted flowers and painted homes, all free to the homeowners.

Hundreds of volunteers from the community, including Youngstown State University students and YSU President Jim Tressel, got their hands dirty.

“All of these people are here for one purpose, and it’s to uplift and elevate life in the city of Youngstown,” said volunteer Jon Howell.

Sherwin-Williams donated all the paint, and local businesses donated food and other supplies.
