HERMITAGE, Pa. (WYTV) – Sunday, volunteers and vendors worked for nearly 12 hours in preparation for Buhl Day at Buhl Farm Park in Hermitage.
Organizers said they will use every second of that time to set up the park.
The celebration begins Monday at 9 a.m. with a memorial service for Frank and Julia Buhl, and closes at 5 p.m. with a performance at the Performing Arts Center.
Events such as a 5K run, parade, puppet show, exhibits, petting zoo and pony rides will be offered. Plenty of food, drinks and music will be provided, so there will never be a dull moment.
Organizers say the busy day will be a good thing, because they’ll have quite a crowd to entertain.
“We would expect to have around 15-20,000 people … This is a big event, it’s been going on for 37 years,” said co-chairman Sue McLaughlin.
What McLaughlin means by 37 is 37 consecutive years. Last year was the 100th anniversary for both Buhl Farm Park and Buhl Day.
Donations for Buhl Day activities will be accepted at the souvenir and information booth near the Performing Arts Center.
Free busing for senior citizens will be provided courtesy of the Shenango Valley Shuttle Service and the Mercer County Regional Council of Governments.
