YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – Eastern Gateway Community College announced that it will accept ITT Technical Institute transfer students in light of the school closing suddenly on Tuesday.
EGCC says it wants to try to make the transition smooth for ITT’s displaced students, and will make special efforts to accommodate them.
The school is still working with the state on the details.
Ryan Ogrodnik, dean of enrollment services at EGCC, says they know that ITT students have put time, money and energy into earning academic credits.
“We’re working with the state to find out the best way we can go about helping students get some of those credits in our institution.”
Ogrodnik says EGCC will continue to offer students as many options as possible so they can plan their futures.
In a statement released Wednesday, he said:
We’re sure that these students will be evaluating a lot of options in the coming days, and we just want them to know that EGCC would love to help them continue working toward their academic goals.
ITT students can contact the admissions office at EGCC by calling the Youngstown campus at 330-480-0726 x3109, or the Steubenville campus at 740-266-9656.
The next start date for classes at Eastern Gateway is October 17.
