YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – A Youngstown man was sentenced to more than 21 years in prison for traveling across state lines to engage in illegal sexual activity.
David Guevara, Sr., 35, was sentenced to 262 months in prison by U.S. District Judge Christopher Boyko.
Prosecutors said Guevara met a 15-year old girl in July 2015 and began a sexual relationship with her. He then traveled to Philadelphia with the teen.
Investigators said Guevara admitted to having sex with the girl, even though she was 15. He said he intended to have a child with the teen and then move to Mexico with her and the baby, according to court documents.
This case was investigated by the Youngstown branch of the FBI, Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office and the Youngstown Police Department. It was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Benedict S. Gullo.
