Canfield, OH (WYTV) – When it comes to high school tennis, Canfield’s Hannah Cianciola is a bona-fide star. She’s been the Number One Player since her freshman year. In that time, she’s won Conference Player of the Year all three times. Plus, her success in the classroom is just as impressive.
“You really have to put a lot of effort in,” said Cianciola. “You can’t just go out and be good at it, so you have to put the practice in and work hard.”
Hannah plays tennis almost every day and it certainly shows. She’s a 3 time state-qualifier in doubles. This year, she gets to compete alongside sister Sydney, a sophomore for the Cardinals.
“I’ll say something and she’ll just start to laugh or I’ll start to laugh so then it really lightens up the mood, even in a hard match,” she said. “It turned out good, like no one fought or anything so it’s good.”
Hannah is a senior captain now. The cardinals are undefeated in conference play under her direction over the past three years. Hannah’s also a top-notch student with a 3.93 GPA.
“Taking time to be good at your sport, taking time to get good grades in school and even have family time, be like a well-rounded person with your friends.”
Hannah keeps busy with National Honor Society and Student Council, but always makes time for the tennis court.
“I always have to work around, when I’m going to go play tennis because I also have to study after school.”
