Driver and cat injured in Youngstown crash

The woman was taken by ambulance from the scene complaining of a head and leg injury

A woman and a cat were injured in an accident in Youngstown, Ohio.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – A woman was injured Friday morning after crashing the SUV she was driving into a metal pole in Youngstown.

The accident happened bout 7:45 a.m. on Midlothian Boulevard, between South Avenue and Shady Run Road.

According to police, the woman was heading east on Midlothian Boulevard when she lost control, crossed over into the westbound lane and hit a pole.

The woman was taken by ambulance from the scene complaining of a head and leg injury.

A pet carrier was destroyed in the crash, and an injured cat was found nearby.

Animal Charity has the cat, which it said is in stable condition. Staff there said the cat remained in the carrier when it was thrown from the vehicle.
