Williams & Ellis help Howland get to 1-2


WARREN, Ohio (WYTV) – Howland got into the win column following their week three 34-0 victory over Lakeside.

The Tigers gained 318 yards on the ground – including a 93-yard scamper by Victor Williams at the end of the first quarter – and had three takeaways. Williams accumulated 180 yards of total offense (118 rushing, 62 receiving) and two touchdowns. Tyriq Ellis ran for 74 yards on 11 rushes (2 TDs) while Isom Julian picked up 52 stripes on 7 carries. Quarterback Samari Dean completed 4 of 4 for 74 yards while reaching 46 yards on the ground on 6 totes.

Lakeside’s Spencer Loftus connected on 14 of 31 passes for 105 yards. Tae Sanders led the Dragons’ by rushing for 51 yards (8 carries) and catching 4 passes for 36. Matt Lunghofer tallied a 10-yard per catch average (5 receptions, 50 yards).
