AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – The old, vacant Giant Eagle warehouse in Austintown will soon be getting a new tenant.
On Friday, Nordson Corporation announced its plan to combine its existing operations in Boardman, New Castle and Pulaski, Virginia into one manufacturing center on Victoria Road.
Nordson engineers and manufactures various products used for materials, such as coatings and sealants.
“Our plan is for Austintown to join similar regional hubs for our screw and barrel products in Thailand and Germany. No other single supplier will be able to provide the polymer industry with such localized service on a global scale,” said Nordson Senior Vice President John Keane.
The company says most of the employees at its three locations will transfer to the Austintown facility.
The total number of employees at the new facility will be around 260. Nordson will be hiring people for positions not filled by its current employees.
Nordson expects the move into the old warehouse to be completed over the next 18 months.
