High-powered Wilmington offense blows past Sharpsville

Sharpsville cut the score to 28-21 before Wilmington blew open the contest

NEW WILMINGTON, Pennsylvania (WYTV) РThe Wilmington Greyhounds put on an offensive display, running past Sharpsville 63-21 to improve to 4-0. The Blue Devils, meanwhile, drop to 3-1.

After a big early Wilmington lead, Sharpsville cut the score to 28-21 on two touchdown passes from Luke Henwood to Marquis Altman — one for 62 yards and another for 38 yards.

But Reese Bender stopped the Blue Devils’ momentum with a 36-yard score to extend the Greyhounds’ lead back to 35-21.

Bender then got things going with his arm, finding Spencer DeMedal for an 11-yard touchdown to give Wilmington a 42-21 lead.
