Jackson Milton downs Leetonia; improves to 3-1

The Blue Jays return next week to take on Newbury.

LEETONIA, Ohio (WYTV) – Jackson-Milton improves to 3-1 following their 40-10 win over Leetonia. The Blue Jays have been successful in each of their last two outings since falling to Newton Falls in week two. Jackson-Milton has averaged 41.7 points in each of their three wins this season.

Jonathon Voland, Blue Jay quarterback, threw for 114 yards. Jimmy Harper led the Jackson-Milton ground game with 59 yards. Mikey Spencer tallied 96 total yards from scrimmage (49 rushing, 47 receiving). The Blue Jays topped the 300-yard plateau for the third time this season.

Leetonia fell behind 22-0. The Bears turned the ball over four times. Brock Simpson completed 8 of 14 passing for 79 yards. Michael Buffone led Leetonia’s rushing attack with 22 yards. Leetonia was only able to muster 169 yards of total offense.

The Bears will open a three-game road trip next week when they travel to Lowellville. Jackson-Milton is already in the midst of a four-game road swing which will lead them to Newbury next Friday.
