Six OVI arrests result from Boardman checkpoints

Boardman, Ohio (WYTV) – There were six OVI arrests from two sobriety checkpoints this past weekend in Boardman.

Conducted by the Mahoning County OVI Task Force in collaboration with the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the checkpoints were on South Avenue at Lowe’s from 10 p.m.-12 a.m. and on US 224 at Marinthana from 1 a.m.-3 a.m.

A total of 729 vehicles passed through the locations, with 24 vehicles being directed into the diversion areas for further investigation.

In addition to the six OVI arrests, there were also: five summonses for driving under suspension, three summonses for no operator’s license, two felony arrests for drug abuse, one felony arrest on a warrant (fleeing and eluding, obstructing official business and theft), one arrest for using weapons while intoxicated, two summonses for drug abuse, one arrest for obstructing official business, two citations for adult restraint, one citation for traffic control device, one citation for expired license plate, one citation for prohibited window tint and one citation for two license plates required.
