Youngstown Phantoms visit Dobbins Elementary students

The hockey players are talking with kids about the importance of a healthy lifestyle and education

Youngstown Phantoms players stopped by Dobbins Elementary School to speak with students.

POLAND, Ohio (WYTV) – The Youngstown Phantoms are making a power play, but you wont find them anywhere near the ice on Tuesday.

That’s because the team is meeting with students at Dobbins Elementary School in Poland.

The players are talking with kids about the importance of a healthy lifestyle and education. It’s all part of a Power Play presentation the team does every year.

“They look up to us, so hopefully just to see that we care about the schools. It’s not all about the sport, you still have to care about the school,” said Youngstown Phantoms player Eric Esposito.

In addition to hockey lessons, the team will leave behind some hockey equipment for the school to keep.
