Canfield, OH (WYTV) – Casey Lindstrom is a scoring machine on the soccer field. She currently leads the state with 29 goals through 11 games this season. She’s an All-Conference and All-State talent setting all kinds of records for the Raiders. Plus, her goals are just as high in the classroom.
“Soccer is my life,” said Lindstrom. “My friends always joke, I’ll have to write papers in English Class and if it’s a personal paper somehow it always relates to soccer.”
Soccer really is life for Casey Lindstrom. She holds 5 school records at South Range and made even more history last week, scoring her 100th career goal.
“I was so excited and happy, kind of like relieved,” she said. “I finally got it and just to look up and to see all my teammates running towards me, it was a surreal feeling.”
Casey is a two year captain for the Raiders. She’s also a leader in the classroom, ranking first with a 4.0 GPA and volunteering her time to many clubs.
“Time management is the biggest where you can balance your time, because to be a good athlete you need to have time to work hard in practice but to be a good student. You need time to study and being able to balance the two of those, I think that’s the biggest key.”
Casey hopes to play soccer in college and study Biology, setting her biggest goals off the soccer field.
“I definitely want to help people with science and just discover something that hasn’t been discovered before and just change the world in the small way that I can.”
