YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – The YSU Foundation celebrated its 50 year anniversary Thursday evening.
The foundation was started in 1966 by then YSU President Howard Jones. Since then, it has been helping the university and its students.
It has over $210 million in assets right now and provides more than $8 million in scholarships to students each year.
The hope is to help improve Youngstown State.
“We have to have better and better facilities, better and better programs, and lots of scholarship money for them,” said YSU Foundation Board Chair Jocelyne Linseleta.
Past and present students who have received and benefited from the YSU Foundation were honored Thursday.
