Rams stay winless, Clippers roll

MINERAL RIDGE, Ohio (WYTV) – Big scoring numbers and a strong defensive effort led the visiting Columbiana Clippers over winless Mineral Ridge on Friday night, 53-21.

On the first drive of the game, Tanner Pearl put the Clippers ahead punching it in from one yard out to give Columbiana the early 7-0 lead.

On the next drive, the Clippers took to the air as Mitch Davidson hit Justin Cox over the middle for a big gain. Later in the drive it was Pearl again, this time on a Jet sweep, finding the endzone to increase the lead.

Columbiana would roll the rest of the way, picking up their fourth win on the season and keeping the Rams winless.

Columbiana (4-1) will host Southern in week six. Mineral Ridge (0-5) will visit Sebring.
