‘The West Wing’ cast visits Boardman, campaigns for Clinton

The four actors stopped at Clinton's campaign office and talked about why they are supporting her for president

BOARDMAN, Ohio (WYTV) – Actors from the hit TV show “The West Wing” were in town on Saturday campaigning for Hillary Clinton.

Joshua Malina, Mary McCormack, Richard Schiff and Bradley Whitford made a stop during the morning at Clinton’s campaign office in Boardman. The four actors met with campaign volunteers and talked about why they are supporting her for president. About 50 people crowded into the storefront, along with national media.

Also in attendance was a group of high school students and their teacher from Lordstown High School.

Student Maya Kressick said she came to hear what people were saying about Clinton.

“People really go in with their own mindset, because of the parties,” she said. “I consider myself an independent because I swing both ways. I don’t want to say I’m a Democrat and then just vote for the Democratic Party. I want to be informed on the issues.”

Kressick added that she campaigned for Bernie Sanders in the primary, but is supporting Hillary for now.

The actors also stopped in Cleveland, Sandusky and Toledo on Saturday, while they’re planning to stop in Dayton and Columbus on Sunday.
