AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – The Escape Dance Academy in Austintown is holding an event Monday night called Dance for a Cause.
Director Lindsay Stumpo said this is the first year of the event.
“We had a couple of our students diagnosed with cancer, so we wanted to do something to bring the community together through dance, just trying to give back,” she said. “All of our proceeds will be donated to St. Jude’s in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.”
Those interested in helping out can pay $10 for unlimited classes. No experience is needed to take the classes.
“We offer classes from babies all the way through adult — all experience levels. It’s open to all dance studios in the area as well as dancers and non-dancers of all levels and experience as well,” Stumpo said.
The event starts at 4:30 p.m. and goes on until 9 p.m. Monday. The schedule of events is posted on the Academy’s Facebook page and its Instagram. A link to donate will also available on the Facebook page, if you’re unable to come.
