Volunteers maintain meals after water break at St. Vincent de Paul

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – After a water leak damaged the St. Vincent de Paul Society’s dining hall Friday, volunteers had to scramble Monday morning to keep services up and running.

The dining hall and other parts of the building were was closed Saturday following the leak, but food services were back up and running Monday with a little help from donors.

A tent is set up across the dining hall on Front Street. Breakfast and lunch will be served there until noon.

Director Wayne Murray said the dining will be closed for about a week, but they will continue to feed everyone outside.

“Buckeye Rentals donated a tent for the week, and that was a true blessing to help us because we will set up underneath the tent with tables and passing out food at normal times today,” Murray said.

Those who can assist the St. Vincent de Paul Society are asked to call the dining hall at (330) 746-4004.
