LOWELLVILLE, Ohio (WYTV) – After beginning the season with a 1-3 mark, the Western Reserve football team has evened their record at 3-3 following their 43-6 win over Lowellville this evening. The Blue Devils have posted 89 points in their last two games after registering just a 22.7 scoring average in their previous three contests.
The Blue Devils opened the contest with a 20-0 lead at the end of the first quarter thanks to the connection between Dominic Velasquez to Kade Hilles. Jack Cappabianca continued his tear on opposing defenses after his 72 yard night on only 8 carries (TD). Adam Gatrell ran the ball twice and scored both times (10, 32).
Reserve’s Caleb Quinn had a pair of quarterback takedowns while Karl Klockenga finished with the team’s lone interception. The Blue Devil defense allowed just 83 yards of total offense.
