LaBrae tops Liberty; sits alone atop the AAC Blue Tier

LaBrae will visit Newton Falls next week.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – LaBrae took sole possession of first place in the All-American Conference’s Blue Tier following their 21-0 victory over Liberty tonight. The Vikings are now 3-0 in league play and 4-2 overall after posting their third consecutive win.

The Vikings’ Tariq Drake opened the scoring with a 20-yard touchdown catch from Carlton Brown to end the first quarter. Then, three minutes later, Drake struck again by returning a 65-yard punt for six points. LaBrae’s ground attack was led by Colton Stoneman (13 rushes, 50 yards) and Arjay Oliver (14 rushes, 44 yards).

During their three-game win streak, LaBrae’s defense has held the opposition to just 8.3 points and to an average of 166 yards of total offense.

Liberty’s quarterback Dra Rushton ran for 130 yards on 25 totes while completing 3 passes. Jalen McKinney ran for 23 yards for the Leopards as well.
