SALEM, Ohio (WYTV) – The 11th annual safety day event took place at The Home Depot in Salem Saturday morning.
The once-a-year gathering helps bring awareness to the community through a special kids clinic workshop. Face painting, model fire trucks and lots of super glue were all a part of teaching the basics of project safety to youngsters today.
“A lot of people don’t think about the basics, as far as smoke alarms, fire extinguishers — things of that nature,” said Trevor Trolley, the safety captain at Home Depot. “They don’t think about it until it’s too late. So it’s good to bring it to the forefront.”
Local police and firefighters were also on hand to help give kids a look inside emergency vehicles.
