YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – We’re bombarded with advertisements. If you click the video, you’ll see one!
Research shows the brand names below are the most trusted products. It’s no surprise, because they are also the most advertised.
Most trusted mouthwash: Listerine
It was meant to be a surgical antiseptic, but it really didn’t take off as a mouthwash until advertisers started warning us about halitosis in the 1920s.
Most trusted cereal: Kellogg’s
Some Americans add chocolate milk to their cereal and some 8 percent add juice.
Most trusted car: Toyota
Eighty percent of Toyotas sold 20 years ago are still on the road today.
Most trusted SUV or Crossover: Ford
The first Model A in 1903 cost $850 ($23,000 today). A Chicago dentist bought the cherry red car, and its top speed was 28 miles per hour.
Most trusted laundry detergent: Tide
Proctor and Gamble spent 14 years developing it. Americans spend more on Tide than on Halloween candy or weight loss products — $2.8 billion a year.
Most trusted bank: Chase
Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr founded it as the Bank of the Manhattan company in 1799.
A few others: The most trusted coffee is Folgers, cold remedy is NyQuill, juice is Tropicana, mobile phone is Apple, drugstore is CVS, fast food is McDonalds, soup is Campbell’s and wireless provider is Verizon.
