Wilmington cruises to their 7th win

Wilmington meets Hickory next week with first place in Region 2 on the line.

NEW WILMINGTON, Pennsylvania (WYTV) – Wilmington continues their perfect season following their 35-0 win over Greenville this evening. The Greyhounds improve to 7-0 as they stay in a first-place tie with Hickory in Region 2.

Wilmington scored five touchdowns within the game’s first 16 minutes. Spencer DeMedal has now scored a total of 20 touchdowns (16 runs, 3 passing, 1 receiving). DeMedal gained 82 yards rushing and threw a 51-yard scoring strike to Bryson Verrelli.

In Wilmington’s first four home games of the season, they’ve scored a total of 177 points (44.3 avg).

The Trojans fell for their third time in four road games this season. In contrast to Wilmington’s success, Greenville has allowed 123 points to be scored during that stretch (30.8 avg).

Greenville (3-4) will return home to take on rival-Reynolds next Friday. Wilmington has a date against undefeated Hickory, which will be one of the most anticipated matchups of the season in District 10.
