YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – October means it’s time for the annual Neighborhood Harvest.

The ICU Blockwatch and Saint Dominic Church sponsors the party for the whole family. This is the sixth year for the event, and organizers need the community’s help.

People can drop off donations of unwrapped candy in the the barrels near the parish office before October 19. The church is located at 77 E. Lucius Ave. in Youngstown.

Blockwatch President Vicki Allen says this event is very close to her heart.

“We’ve seen a lot of community investment, a lot of families coming out and showing support for the events that we do. It’s a win-win situation for all,” she said. “You know, we are here to provide a safe and secure and fun event for the children to come.”

The free event has food, fun and of course, candy.

It will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday October 23, inside the parking lot of the Horizon Science Academy, located at 3403 Southern Blvd.
