YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – Over 1,000 people gathered in Mill Creek Park Saturday morning to help raise money — and awareness — for suicide education.

It came in the form of the ninth annual Out Of The Darkness Walk, an event that was free to the public. Any money raised came from the sale of shirts and raffle baskets.

Out Of The Darkness Chairperson Cindy Orslene said that seeing so many people come out was heart-warming.

“It’s magical coming here because it’s a feel-good place for everybody to be here,” she said. “We’re all in the same boat here”

This is Orslene’s second year running participating.
