NILES, Ohio (WYTV) – Folks put their best foot forward in a Bubble Soccer Game in memory of Sierra Giovannone-Roberts on Sunday, who died in 2014 and struggled with opiate addiction.
Soccer was her favorite sport.
This is the 3rd year of the event, which was held at Niles Wellness Center.
Sierra’s mom Amy said that people coming out to play in memory of her daughter means a lot.
“It’s the best present I could have,” Amy Giovannone said. “And it’s the best present she could have. Because it’s happy. It’s fun. She doesn’t want us to cry and be sad.”
The funds raised at the event will go to various organizations dedicated to recovery.
