Former director of Cafaro office pleads guilty to theft

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – The former director of State Sen. Capri Cafaro’s district office has plead guilty to two felony counts of theft.

Judge Ronald Rice ordered 30-year-old Jonathan Wike to undergo a pre-sentence investigation.

Wike now admits to stealing thousands of dollars from both Cafaro and his 89-year-old grandmother.

Cafaro fired Wike in July 2015 after learning about an ongoing criminal investigation.

He’s set to be sentenced in 6-8 weeks.
