YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – The Mahoning County Juvenile Court is holding a seminar next Thursday to teach local leaders about how to help kids from diverse backgrounds.

The event will focus on the challenges those children can face and how to make sure they feel included in the community.

“It’s important that no matter what color, race you are, religion, that you feel a part of your community,” said Juvenile Court Magistrate Anthony D’Apolito. “It’s only by feeling a part of your community that you have a tie to the community, and you want to make a positive impact, positive changes.”

Federal Judge Nathaniel Jones, after whom the Federal Courthouse in Youngstown is named, will be the featured speaker.

The seminar will take place October 20 at Drake’s Landing in Canfield.
