Youngstown woman stabbed in middle of Candy Crush game

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – Youngstown police say an argument inside a house on Youngstown’s south side ended with a woman being stabbed.

Officers were called to a home on East Judson Avenue just after midnight Wednesday and discovered a woman lying on the floor with a stab wound to her stomach.

According to police, the woman, who was conscious but intoxicated, told officers she had been arguing with 60-year-old Marvin “Spider” Jones inside the house and the altercation escalated when he smacked a phone out of her hand while she was playing Candy Crush.

The two began to wrestle and the woman said she able to put Jones in a “head lock,” but Jones pulled a kitchen knife out of his waistband and stabbed her.

Jones, who police say was also intoxicated, told police that the woman attacked him and he stabbed her in self-defense.

A knife was found at the scene and taken as evidence.

Jones was arrested and charged with felonious assault.

The woman was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital where she was listed in stable condition.
