Hubbard Library debuts new advanced-technology area

Hubbard library new area

HUBBARD, Ohio (WYTV) – The Hubbard Public Library was showing off some exciting new technology Friday and it’s all available to patrons.

Maker-space is a new area in the library dedicated to 3D printing and scanning, as well as augmented and virtual reality. Some staff from the Cleveland Library was on hand Friday to help show off the capabilities available to the public.

“Our laser engraver is actually an industry standard piece of equipment that isn’t necessarily accessible to most people,” CJ Lynce said. “And with the library, we have purchased that and provide that for free for anybody to come and use.”

Hubbard Library officials said the new equipment will be a huge help in getting younger students interested in the technology and potential careers.

They will soon be hosting classes from Hubbard schools to give them a hands-on demonstration.
