BOARDMAN, Ohio (WYTV) – The Cleveland Indians’ run to the World Series has made them the talk of the town.

Even an early start for Game 5 couldn’t keep fans from watching at Buffalo Wild Wings in Boardman.

“We just stopped in to catch the last couple of innings, and I’m glad I did,” said Tom Foran, of Youngstown.

Fans from all over the Valley joined in.

“Oh yeah, there’s a lot of them here now and we’re partying it up,” said Alesio Guerrieri, of Boardman.

All waiting for that moment when their Tribe clinched the pennant.

“It’s outstanding, man. I mean, we snapped one streak in Cleveland. It’s time to snap another one,” Foran said.

Joe Narry, of Boardman, says the whole experience is amazing.

“Andrew Miller was amazing, Ryan Merritt was amazing. I’m just really excited.”

Fans also headed to Dick’s Sporting Goods in Boardman after the game to stock up on championship gear. The store quickly sold out of the approximately 400 shirts in an hour or so.

Now the waiting begins with six more days until Game 1 of the World Series at Progressive Field in Cleveland. For the Indians fans who have stuck it out for almost seven decades since the last world championship, it’s worth the wait. TICKET INFORMATION

“Also, I just wanted to thank my boss for giving me the World Series off so I don’t have to call in sick with a groin injury,” Narry said.

They’ll also keep an eye on the NLCS to see who their opponent will be.

“The Cubs are pretty tough and the Dodgers are pretty tough, but I have faith in the Indians. I think, whoever they play, they’ll go all the way,” Guerrieri said.

Cleveland last won a World Series in 1948.
