Phantom Fireworks buys old Cafaro HQ in Youngstown

The old Cafaro Company building in Youngstown is up for sale.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – The owners of Phantom Fireworks has has purchased the former Cafaro Company headquarters on Belmont Avenue in Liberty Township.

The deal closed Tuesday.

According to Joe Bell, director of corporate communication for the Cafaro Corporation, the structure will become the new headquarters for Phantom Fireworks.

The building was originally constructed in 1965 and expanded in 1980 to a total square footage of 44,019. In addition to the building, the sale includes 3.59 acres of land and assorted building furniture. Phantom Fireworks and Phantoms Hockey will be headquartered in this new corporate office. 

Phantom Fireworks is now the largest consumer fireworks retailer in the United States, according to Bell.

In 2011, Phantom Fireworks purchased the former Delphi Packard plant located at Larchmont Avenue and North River Road in Trumbull County, to accommodate growth for the Phantom’s locations.

The Cafaro corporate offices moved to a newly constructed building at the Eastwood Mall Complex.
