WARREN, Ohio (WYTV) – On Saturday evening just before 6 p.m., a crash occurred at the corner of Maryland Street NW and Mahoning Avenue NW.
According to a police report, Timothy Brown, a retired Warren Police Department officer, was driving down Mahoning Avenue when he crossed the center line and caused a head-on collision.
The report states there was a mailbox in the road that might have caused him to swerve.
Both Brown and the person in the other car were taken to Trumbull Memorial Hospital; Brown was later taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital.
There is no word yet on Brown’s condition; the report says he was in too much pain to be able to talk about what happened.
No citations were given. The incident is still under investigation.
